The Train Barn is a two-level hobby shop/museum in Portage. On the bottom floor, model train enthusiasts will find a variety of replicated trains. A trip upstairs allows people to see an assortment of assembled model trains in the museum portion. The museum is open on Saturday from 10:30am to 4:30pm, while the store is open Wednesday through Friday from 1pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Depot Museum Originally built in Deerfield around 1874 as a stop on the Detroit & Canada Southern line, this depot was made obsolete by 1887. While the tracks around it were removed, it wasn't until the 1980's that the building was moved to Adrian and then to Blissfield in 1991. Hammond House Museum The Hammond House was one of the first fine homes ever built in Union City. Built by Deacons Chester Hammond in 1836, the house was part of a 200-acre tract with Hammond subdivided in anticipation for the Ernie Canal coming through the area. For 83 years, the Kimball family served Battle Creek by providing medical services to the community. The family first moved to the town in 1886 and soon after built a 14-room house on Maple Street where three generations lived. Since 1966, the Kimball House has welcomed the public to tour it.
