    Historic Bridge Park

    Historic Bridge Park is situated along the Kalamazoo River. Visitors can use the vast green space and treed areas for a variety of activities, including picnicking, hiking, bike riding, fishing, boating, bird watching, walking and observing wildlife, to many a few. Inside the park are several restored bridges that depict some of Michigan's transportation history.

    Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

    Each year, thousands of visitors stop at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary in Augusta to learn about wildlife.     Scotts Mill County Park

    Whitehouse Nature Center

    Whitehouse Nature Center encompasses 144 acres of undeveloped area. Environmental programs for the public are offered at the center, which is home to at least 168 species of birds, 25 acres of trees, 34 races of farmland, an arboretum and a 400 plant herbarium. There are six self-guided trails for visitors to explore. The Nature Center is open daily.

    Bishop's Bog Preserve

    Portage's Bishop's Bog Preserve is the largest untouched bog in Southern Michigan, containing 152 acres of rare plants and animals. It is located in between Schrier and South Westhedge parks, with a trail contecting the three areas together. Wildlife is best viewed in the morning or evening and visitors are asked to stay on the train to avoid disturbing the sensitive lands.
